Become an Awesome Paws Instructor Graduate! If you have ever thought about becoming a pet trainer, now is your chance! Our standard program consists of volunteer hours with our founder, Julie Westphal, while on calls, during field trips and with Boarding School dogs. If you have your own pet, we will help you establish a strong foundation and help you throughout your continuing education career. Successful completion of instructor course and Awesome Paws certification in Level 1, 2, or 3 occurs when you have titled in CGC/Therapy Dog for Level 1, AKC Rally-O for a Level 2, or AKC CD or Schutzhund BH for a Level 3. Advanced Awesome Paws Level 1 will be achieved with titles in AKC CDX and then going towards UD, or Schutzhund I, II, or III. If you're only interested in becoming a Tracking Instructor, Tracking Advanced Level 1 will be achieved with an AKC TD or Sch I or II TRK, Tracking Advanced Level 2 with an AKC TDX or Sch III TRK, or Tracking Advanced Level 3 with an AKC VST or Sch FH TRK. Once Awesome Paws Instructor training starts with approximately 4 months of intensive daily training. Having a personal dog is recommended, but not required.
